Discount for frontline staff

National

THE Brian Bell Homecentres will be providing a 30 per cent discount to all of Papua New Guinea’s frontline workers such as doctors, nurses and police personnel starting today .
Brian Bell Group chairman Ian Clough, who made the announcement yesterday, said the discount applied to every full priced item stocked at its Homecentres nationwide.
“All we require to receive this discount is that you show your identification that confirms your role as one of our frontliners, and our teams will be ready to assist and say thank you for your great work,” he said.
“We know this discount will help many of these frontline families during this Covid-19 period.”
The frontliners eligible for the 30 per cent discount are medical personnel, medical clinic personnel, hospital, National Health Department, ambulance, customs, immigration services, doctors, nurses and police personnel.
“We have made strong commitments to our team members as we continue to pay wages for our team members during these challenging times,” Clough said
“Organisations are being tested right now as the Covid-19 takes a grip globally, their leadership is being tested, the management is being tested, and how we react to this situation shows the quality of an organisation.
“I am proud to say that the Brian Bell Group’s leadership team, its management and all of our team members have operated during this on-going challenging period with emotional resilience, strong communication and well executed plans.”
He added that the Sir Brian Bell Foundation and the Brian Bell Group had continued with Covid-19 health awareness programmes.
“We will be continuing these programmes until we know that PNG is clear of the Covid-19,” he said.
“Additionally, the Sir Brian Bell Foundation is continuing with its on-going support, donations and investment in medical equipment and other essential items required for our frontline operations and hospitals.”
Meanwhile, the Sir Brian Bell Foundation recently donated four coleman tents, 20 white plastic chairs and 10 plastic folding tables to the Port Moresby General Hospital (PMGH).
PMGH corporate services director Bobby Tau thanked foundation chief executive Bronwyn Wright for the donation to support their efforts in containing the Covid-19.
