PEOPLE in the Moreguina council ward of Cloudy Bay local level government in Abau, Central, now have a new multi-purpose hall.
It was launched on Tuesday at the Moreguina station.
The hall, costing K80,000, is one of the pilot projects under the new community development driven (CDD) model by the Department of Provincial and Local Level Government Affairs and supported by World Bank to serve the people in the rural areas of Papua New Guinea.
Provincial and LLG Affairs Secretary Dickson Guina said the Government was focusing on improving rural districts.
Guina said they would continue to deliver the project in other wards.
He said the success of the project in Moreguina influenced  the Government to scale up its efforts in other parts of the country.
World Bank national project manager Rufina Peter said the CDD model was the way forward for the country to achieve its Vision 2050.
