Districts need to be split

Letters

I BRING this issue to the attention of West Sepik’s Vanimo-Green MP Belden Namah and Aitape-Lumi MP Patrick Pruaitch.
It is high time we split these districts into separate districts.
This has to happen for the good of our people.
I believe this has been a concern for some time now.
As I can recall, the plans to split these districts are ready and sitting idle in the provincial headquarters in Vanimo.
I believe that in order for services to reach our hinterlands, we need to split these districts.
The people in these districts deserve better.
I believe that this is also in line with the initiative currently undertaken by the current government in taking back Papua New Guinea.
It is up to the elites of these districts in and around the country to speak up for the benefit of their people.
Issues such as these should be a cause for regular discussion and not just when elections are near.
