AN argument between a couple has resulted in a fight among three villages in Kuni, Kairuku, Central, where 16 pigs were killed, police say.
Central police comm Chief Supt Johnanes Yapi said Alo and Apilani villagers combined to fight with Manao villagers.
“The villages are on the border with Goilala and are remote with police unable to reach them by vehicle,” Yapi said.
“It will take us six to seven days on foot to get there.”
He said because of the difficulty accessing the villages, his men would not be able to address the incident until next week.
Meanwhile, a five-year-old girl was raped by a 25-year-old man at Goldie outside Port Moresby last week.
“The suspect is from Goilala and is a family friend,” Yapi said.
The victim was left alone in the house by her mother who went out fishing at the nearby river when the suspect went inside the house and raped the girl,” Yapi said.
He said matter has been reported and police were investigating it.
Yapi said, a 61-year-old man was killed by a group of man at Cloudy Bay in Abau, Central, last month.
“He was suspected of sorcery and killed by men who live in the same village,” Yapi said.
He said the location of the killing was isolated near the boarders with Northern and Milne Bay.
