Don’t expect free handouts

Letters

I AM dissatisfied by these constant complaints on social media about school fee assistance.
Even though government subsidised 63 per cent from elementary to secondary schools and provided the Help (Higher education loan programme) scheme for tertiary students, people are not satisfied with that.
From my view, cronies of previous government, lazy parents and their kids want 100 per cent free handouts.
In this world, nothing comes free.
You have to work hard to earn it.
Parents should dig deep and feel the pain to invest into their children’s education.
Their pains will motivate their kids to study hard and earn a desired living.
Students in tertiary institutions are using social media and attacking the Government. These students should tell their parents to pay their school fees.
Our parents paid our school fees from elementary to universities and we are here today.
What is so special about them and their parents to joy ride on free handouts?
Do they think they own this nation and are entitled for free handouts?
They should up and tell their parents to adhere to their sole responsibilities or else wait patiently for the Government to subsidise their fees.
