Dragons win in third round of Telikom Golf Pennants

ROUND three of the 2021 Telikom PNG Golf Pennants challenge teed off yesterday with ladder leaders Starland Dragons winning with 4.5 and 2.5 over team QPR.
Dragons Olivia Lemmone claimed the game’s best player with a result of 7/6 while Kumul Telikom grabbed a 5 and 2 win over Ela Motors to retain second spot.
Prime Minister James Marape finished his day with 3/1 for Team Ela Motors (fourth place) for the third round.
Following the end of the round, Marape said it was important for people to continue to live their lives with the presence of Covid-19 in the country.
“We look forward to such social events going forward, life is not bad, we live on with Covid-19 and we live through this events,” he said.
“A big thanks to Telikom for coming in and hosting these games.
“Golf is one way to ensure that we come out to socialise and show that we can smile through the ‘storm”.
Meanwhile, Telikom acting chief executive Amos Tepi welcomed Marape for the third round.
“I’d like to thank the prime minister for taking the time to come and join us, although he has commitments, he has given his time to come and play against Kumul Telikom,” he said.
Team Bank South Pacific (third) finished the third round to win 4.5 and 2.5 over team More than Oil (sixth) and Team DHL (seventh) won 4.5 and 2.5 over East West Transport (ninth).
