Driver injured, passengers escape in crash

The driver of a sedan was seriously injured when his vehicle collided with a truck at the Waigani tunnel yesterday.
Truck driver Nuga Walo said he was on his way to Konedobu and as he was turning the bend at the tunnel to take the freeway, a  sedan crashed onto the side of his truck.
The impact of the crash flipped the three-tonne truck to its side.
“I was shocked because as I was turning the bend, I couldn’t see any oncoming traffic until we got hit,” Walo said.
“Luckily none of us was injured.
The injured driver of the car was taken to hospital by ambulance.
Police arrived at the scene and are investigating.
