Dua: People of Chimbu at centre of all my decisions

CHIMBU Governor Michael Dua said any decision he make at the national and provincial level will always have the people of Chimbu at the centre.
Dua said this to clear his current stance on the looming vote of no-confidence against Prime Minister Peter O’Neill.
“As Governor for Chimbu, any decision I make, I will always have my people of Chimbu at my heart,” Dua said.
“There were posts on social media that I was forced to Crown Hotel upon my arrival at Jackson Airport from Goroka. This was misleading and a total lie.
“My people in Chimbu need services and I am currently with the government of the day.
“I am not interested in playing national politics because my people needs basic services.
“I will have to be in government to deliver service to them and that is why I am with the government.
“But if there needs to be a change, then this can happen following due democratic processes.”
Dua made it clear that because of the court battle between him and the former Governor Noah Kool challenging his 2017 election victory, most of his time was taken up by the court affecting his time to focus on delivering services.
“But that doesn’t stops me from performing my duties as mandated leader for Chimbu,” he said.
“We will continue to strive at the national and provincial level to drive change into the province and bring basic services to the people.”
Dua also appealed to his open MPs to work together as one team when it comes to matters of the province.
