A CASE of two men who with others were alleged to have robbed a company manager of cash and properties totalling K29,000 will proceed to submissions after police completed and served them their police files.
Magistrate Seth Tanei adjourned to Feb 18, the case of Mileng Mendako, 27, from Madang and Stanis Susuve, 30, from Gulf, who were each charged with armed robbery for submissions on evidence.
Mendako remains in remand but Susuve is out on bail.
It was alleged that on Aug 21 last year, at East Boroko, Mendako and Susuve with four other unknown people were armed with four factory-made guns, held up the general manager of Property Investment and Consultant Ltd and robbed him of K21,000 , an iPhone valued at K5,000 and a Samsung Galaxy phone valued at K3,000, all totalling K29,000.
Susuve allegedly went on a drinking spree with his friends after the robbery.
He was tracked using the iPhones’s global positioning system (GPS) and apprehended at his home in Kaugere where he said the iPhone was sold to him but he refused to buy it.
He was later arrested and charged on Aug 25 and detained at the Boroko cell.
Mendako surrendered to police on Aug 27, after police visited his home in Morata.
He admitted that he was in the getaway vehicle that was used in the robbery and only received K200 of the K21,000.
He was arrested and charged the next day.
