DWU geared for Vice-Chancellor’s Cup

DIVINE Word University’s (DWU) rugby league team completed their third week of training in preparation for the Vice-Chancellor’s Cup which will be hosted in Port Moresby this weekend.
The tournament was established for tertiary institutions to compete and this year’s edition will run for three days at the University of Papua New Guinea.
DWU are in their third week of preparation after kicking off training on July 27 under coach and third-year student Ben Mokai.
DWU student representative council vice-president Jill Bano told The National yesterday that the team were prepared for the tournament.
“They have been training very hard in the past three weeks so they are ready,” she said.
“The council executives are prepared to attend a meeting with the other universities leaders to collectively raise our concerns to the Government.
“We will be signing a memorandum of understanding to create a relationship between the universities.”
