Wemin expects strong contest from Wigmen

PORT Moresby Vipers centre Ben Wemin says he is anticipating a tough battle against his older brother Tony and Hela Wigmen in their Digicel Cup elimination final at the Oil Search National Football Stadium on Sunday.
Ben told The National yesterday that 2020 premiership-winning five-eighth Tony would be defending on the same edge but there would be no love lost between the two of them in the 80 minutes of football.
“Whenever we play the Wigmen, I always tell my brother (Tony) that we are enemies on the field but off we are family off it,” Ben said.
“Obviously, Tony had been to the grand final last year and won the premiership.
“So he and his team will not back down easily despite their recent form.
“They still have some experienced players. They will also have more supporters than us.
“Regardless of where they have finished on the ladder, Tony and his side will be tough to beat.”
