Eagles, Cats in clash of the round

THE top teams are set to face off in round 7 of the Port Moresby AFL competition at the Colts Oval this weekend.
In tomorrow’s main match, the unbeaten ladder leaders West Eagles face on third-placed Bomana Cats, who are coming off a 126-point destruction of the Gerehu Magpies last week.
All eyes will be on Eagles new recruit Kila Rawali as he faces his old club.
They Makerupu, Rigo, Central, youngster is a talented footballer with strong marking skills and perfect ball distributor off both feet.
Rawali will be teaming up with another former Cats and Magpies star Greg Ekari to create scoring opportunities (as they did last week) for Jeffery Namete, Damien Kani, Mathew Pulah Jr and Kase cousins Dunstan, Jeremy and Daniby. The Cats ever green Kataha Seewee, Kelly Kaugla, Mackenzie Nogfa and Peter Lavong look unbeatable with their speed and agility but they face a well-drilled team that has yet to taste defeat.
Backline general Raymond Vogae will team up with Reagan Naipao, Naso Kabura, Billy Vele Jr, Camillo Ekari, Allan Mara and Dockers defector Clyde Pulah to hold defence and ensure the Eagles unbeaten run.
In Sunday’s main clash, another upset will be in the minds of Gordon Kokofas as they take on the Lamana Dockers, who are in second spot.
The Lizards knocked off a star-studded Koboni last week 29-25 and they will be aiming to continue their giant-killing ways against the reigning premiers on Sunday.
The wharfies have a single loss to the Eagles at the start of season but have maintained their premiership form with a string of victories.
In the other match tomorrow, the defamed Koboni should return to the winners’ circles at the expense of North Waigani Royals Tigers while the Gereka Bombers should beat the struggling Magpies on Sunday.
