FOOTBALL will grow following the election of John Kapi Natto as Papua New Guinea Football Association president and John Wesley Gonjuan as his deputy, according to an official.
“I saw something that emerged from the congress — two football leaders with the same vision and drive,” Port Moresby Soccer Association (PMSA) vice-president Joseph Ealedona said.
“We can’t go wrong from here and as they say, ‘God does things in mysterious ways’.
“I saw this unfolding at the congress.”
Ealedona urged all associations, football supporters, players and officials to throw away their differences and move forward together under the leadership of Kapi Natto and Gonjuan.
He said the PMSA board would meet this week to welcome back Gonjuan to his role as the president.
“I was privileged to be alone with the (PNGFA) president and his vice-president after the congress election, and hear them speak about what will happen next,” Ealedona said.
“It will be a huge and exciting run from here on.”
Meanwhile, Ealedona said PMSA was preparing to host its inaugural awards night next weekend.
