Early Christmas gifts for sick children

THE Methodist Church of PNG gave K10,000 worth of Christmas gifts to the Port Moresby General Hospital children’s wards on Saturday.
The church has been giving Christmas gifts to the hospital for the last eight years, Rev Ngu King Ming of the Port Moresby Methodist church said.
The gifts consisted of biscuits, fruits and other children’s essentials were wrapped up in a “Jesus Loves You” giftbags and presented to each child with a prayer.
“We have Methodist churches in Kimbe, Madang, Vanimo and Lae as well so together we all will be giving the Christmas gifts, especially to the children’s wards in different region,” Ming said.
“About 120 children received Christmas gifts from the church.
“Children’s wards are very privileged every year to receive gifts from government to private organisations.”
During the beginning of December, different organisation schedule a day for its employees to bring Christmas gifts to the children and we are very happy for them,” Ming said.
Simona Koma, a mother of a one-year-old son Jonathan Joseph, said her son had been diagnosed with TB and had been in the hospital for the last four months.
“He is an infant and we pray for God’s divine intervention to cure him and seeing the Methodist Church praying and bringing gifts puts a smile on  the his face is something a mother is thankful for,” said Koma.
