EASTER brought joy and excitement to the members of two clans in Hanuabada, Port Moresby, during an iron man contest.
The event was the initiative of members of the United Church to involve the Mavara and Kahanamona clans.
Clan treasurer Keruma Gamu said the contest involved men, women and children.
Businesshouses provided shirts and food for the event.
Gamu said the fun games were organised during Easter to involve community members.
“Half of the money raised will be given to the clans for their operations and half will be given to the church.”
The contest began with a marching band and a police escort around the community.
The iron man contest had seven stations where teams had to pass through before moving to the next stage of the race.
Gamu said the event brought the whole clan together.
Team Red won the gold medal, Team Purple took the silver and Team Maroon won the bronze.
