KOMO-Margarima MP Manasseh Makiba says he joined the Pangu Party because its policy about leading the country to economic independence appealed to him.
Makiba said Pangu had a great historical significance as it led the country to political independence.
“For me it’s going back to my political roots and haus man as my late father Marabe Makiba started his political career as parliamentary member of Pangu Party back in 1982 to 1987 and after then-founding member of People’s Democratic Movement (PDM) Party with Paias Wingti from 1987 election,” he said.
“Pangu Party named and its policies resonate well in all parts of PNG and promotes national unity and patriotism.
“Pangu Party is an important institution and we must support it to grow bigger and stronger and not shrink and tear it down.
“Political parties must outlive politicians and not politicians outliving political parties.”
