Education reform

Letters

THE EDUCATION reform made a few decades ago to teach prep and elementary school children lessons in their own vernacular was an unwise concept undertaken by the Education Department.
There are setbacks and loopholes being experienced now as a result of teaching children in their own language.
Students who have passed out of this transition period of the education reform are struggling with English language skills.
If this had happened in another country, the parents would have taken the Education Department to court for the use of irrelevant language in teaching their children.
Let’s do away with this concept and adopt the old system.
