Eight Lewas in EAP squad

THE International Cricket Council East-Asia-Pacific (EAP) women’s team will play six teams in the Australian Country Cricket Championships (ACCC) in Shepparton, Victoria, from Jan 5-11.
The 13-woman squad, which include eight City Pharmacy PNG Lewas will start their campaign on Sat, Jan 5, against South Australia Country at the Tallygaroopna Reserve. Then they play Western Australia Country, Victoria Country, Northern Territory, New South Wales Country and Queensland Country over the next four days, before the finals which will take place from Jan 10-11.
This will be the third time that the EAP women’s team will be competing in the famous ACCC. Last year, the EAP 11 won the inaugural title after defeating Victoria in the final by eight wickets while in 2018 the EAP side finished in fifth position.
Lewas’ players Sibona Jimmy has been selected in the EAP 11 for an incredible third time; Brenda Tau, Vicky Ara’a, Kaia Arua, Veru Kila Frank and Tanya Ruma for a second time while Mairi Tom and Naoani Vare will make their debuts.
