Embarrassing comments

The National, Tuesday June 30th, 2015

The National’s headline on page 61 (29 June) “Pitch, sked stuns All Whites coach” really embarrassed me after our Sports Minister and his colleagues boosted about all our so called World class sports facilities that will be ready for the “best ever Pacific Games to be held”. What an embarrassing comment from the All Whites coach, Anthony Hudson, referring to the football field as in “crazy” substandard conditions which tells us that all games facilities apart from football fields could also be of substandard (from an expect point of view) despite their shiny eye-catching outlook. He also reveals that due to these substandard conditions of our football field few professional clubs have refused to release their international players to take part in the games football matches. The coach further claims that he is shocked as he has never experienced such anywhere in the world where a football field is grassed just two months before a game is played. Anyway, PNG is truly the land of the unexpected and I can only keep my fingers crossed for now hoping that all will sail smoothly for the Games.
