THE people of Mount Bosavi in the Nipa-Kutubu electorate in Southern Highlands scored a windfall with cash, vehicle and a boat last week.
MP and Sports Minister Philemon Embel presented a new ambulance for the Lake Cambol Hospital, a 19-foot and 30-horsepower banana boat for the Fukomaiyu station to travel along Fly River and a lawn mover for the Muluma station.
The ambulance will also be used to help transport learning materials for schools in the area.
Embel also gave K170,000 for labourers to help clean these stations.
K120,000 of the total was given to clean up the airstrips at Muluma, Musa and Lake Cambo.
The other K50,000 was paid to an airline company to take any referral patients to hospital in Mendi, Mt Hagen or Goroka for medical treatment and to take teachers who are teaching at Mt Bosavi to Mendi or Mt Hagen on holidays to visit their families.
Embel urged the people to properly utilise these services and ensure that everyone benefits, adding that better things would soon come to the district.
