ENB supports women in SME

The East New Britain (ENB) administration is in support of women participating in small to medium businesses in the province.
ENB administrator Wilson Matava said during the launching of the women SME group in the Gazelle district that he fully supported the programme.
It involves the East New Britain Savings and Loans Society and Gazelle district administration.
Matava explained that such a programme would empower women to engage in business activities.
“One of the priorities of the provincial government is to grow the local economy and to empower women to sustain their livelihood,” Matava said.
Matava said it was important for public servants to see through such programme.
“The women are also fortunate that savings and loans society will be conducting programmes to educate, empower and enrich them and also it is not just about borrowing money but to save regularly,” he said.
The loans society will run a K2 million programme supported by the provincial executive council for small businesses.
Governor Nakikus Konga has already given K1 million to the society.
On behalf of the ENB government Matava commend the ENBSL board of directors and the management to continue with their best practice.
