THE Enga Cultural Show committee has launched its website which will target international tourists and encourage people to “experience Enga”, Governor Sir Peter Ipatas says.
Sir Peter said the website
engashow.com was produced with support from the provincial government.
“The Enga Cultural Show is a powerful drawcard for visitors and a platform to leverage from to grow tourism in the province,” he said.
The website was launched on Friday in Port Moresby. The developer of the site, Lamson Paura, said it took three months to create it.
He said the site had information about the show, videos and pictures of Engan cultural practices.
He said the site would also have the option for visitors to buy their tickets online and the show’s committee would help make bookings for accommodation and transport.
The 2018 show will be staged from Aug 10 to 12 in Wabag town. This year will be the 24th show since its inception in 1994.
Sir Peter said the website fitted well with the show’s 2018 theme of “Growing and promoting our culture for future prosperity”.
“This theme acknowledges the benefits that will come from preserving and continuing to practise our traditions,” he said.
