Engineers get tough

THE Institute of Engineering has introduced a competency-based assessment system to improve engineering works in the country.
The system requires all engineers, both nationals and expatriates, to register before they can work in the country.
Institute chief executive Benedict Mike said that as the registration arm of the engineering agencies in the country, its purpose was to safeguard and ensure quality engineering works were carried out.
