The National, Thursday July 21st, 2016

ENROLMENT officers from Rigo will undergo training to update the electoral roll in the district starting today, Electoral Commissioner Patilias Gamato says.
The two-day training at Kwikila is only for the returning officers (ROs) and assistant returning officers (AROs).
“The specifics of the training is to educate the group on the roles and responsibilities of election workers and the enrolment processes and procedures,” Gamato said.
“The enrolment processes and procedures include, how to fill in the enrolment forms, how to make amendments on the electoral roll for existing voters and other possible scenarios that they might face during the exercise.”
He said after the completion of the training, ROs and AROs will conduct training for enrolment agents at the LLG level.
East New Britain will be the next to conduct training for its enrolment officers which will be followed by trainings in all four regions.
“Our aim is to do these trainings in four weeks so that the main enrolment work can be carried out,” Gamato said.
He said a similar training was done in Milne Bay two weeks ago.
