National Capital District metropolitan superintendent Perou N’Dranou has expressed concern over the escape from the Boroko Police Station on Saturday of the prime suspect in a K1.2 million robbery.
The suspect was nabbed on Friday and he disappeared from the cell the next day, baffling the chief superintendent.
“I have ordered an investigation into how the cell guards had released him,” he said.
N’Dranou said that the K1.2 million robbery occurred at Tropic Air cargo terminal, Jackson Airport, in 2016.
“The suspect is known for robbery and he is not a new face to the police. Unfortunately, he was mysteriously released from the cells. We are now doing our administrative inspections and this week we expect to arrest those officers involved in releasing him,” N’Dranou said.
