Evict settlers in settlements

WE the residents of Moresby South would like to express condolences to the family of late Eric Mero who was killed last week over K7 by some drug addicts.
Moreover, from our heart we welcome the news by our Moresby South MP Justin Tkatchenko (in yesterday’s The National) to evict the settlement where the Goilala and Kerema settlers were residing in.
Please evict them to avoid another death similar to Mero’s.
Tkatchenko has changed the face of Moresby South unlike other two electorates (Moresby North West & Moresby North East).
Here at Moresby South, we continue to see changes brought to us and while we embrace the changes, a few hooligans are going around killing innocent people.
It is time to act before more deaths occur.
If nothing is done, we expect more deaths of K7, K5, K2 or even K1.
Hence, no more mercy should be shown to these people.
This should serve as an example to other settlements in Moresby South that if a similar incident occurs, the authorities should evict the settlers.
It’s about time people learn how to respect and live among people of different cultures and provinces.
