Explain law’s purpose

Letters

THE registrar of political party Dr Alphonse Gelu and the registry must explain to the country what is the real purpose of the organic law on the integrity of political parties and candidates (Olippac) and how it is being implemented to date.
In the latest PNG political scene, candidates are jumping from one party to another at free will.
I think those politicians have broken the Olippac in broad daylight and should be dismissed.
If there are loop holes that our MPs are taking advantage of them, the registrar should highlight them to the nation so that we introduce additional amendments and close these gaps.
Party hoping is causing unstable leadership and governments fail to deliver on their promises and policies.
At present, people vote our leaders along personality lines and not party.
PNG needs strong and stable institutionalised parties to see out our current plans and policies such as the Medium Term Development Plan (MTDP) III, district services programme (DSP) funds and the broader Vision 2050.
