Explain rise in prices of goods and services

Letters

THE sudden increase in the prices of goods and services in Papua New Guinea is something of great concern.
I paid K50 for 12.7 litres of fuel about four weeks ago, however, the price has increased recently.
For K50, you will get 11.3 litres of fuel.
The Kwik Kai packet of chicken has increased to K19 in many shops.
Prices of many other goods and services have increased as well in the past few weeks.
This is a sudden increase and people are wondering about what is going on.
The Independent Consumer and Competition Commission should explain the reasons for this increase.
The people deserve to know.
Why are people being left in the dark without an explanation?
Many are feeling the pinch of this increase.
Families with many children, especially those in schools, are under pressure to afford necessities amid this increase.
I am appealing to the Government and the Independent Consumer and Competition Commission to explain the recent increase in prices of goods and services.
