THE Lae Chamber of Commerce and Industry is calling on businesses in the province to showcase their products in an expo planned in two weeks at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium.
The expo on May 27 will coincide with a visit by Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) officials.
The chamber said the expo would be a good time for businesses in the province to showcase their products to the outside world as that could open up business opportunities.
“All business houses and other instrumentalities have been invited to participate in an Apec Trade Expo in the Sir Ignatius Kilage indoor Stadium to showcase our wares, products, business savvy and investment in the Morobe and PNG economy,” the chamber said.
“Pleasingly, we have 20 businesses already participating and there’s room for plenty more,” it said in a statement.
“These (participants) represent agri-business, education, small-to-medium-enterprise farmers, transport, fishing, packaging and wrapping and food services.”
The chamber said many of the Lae-based businesses originated from host economies of the 21-representative Apec member countries whose officials.
