Many public areas in Port Moresby have been an eyesore, riddled with filth and smell from uncollected garbage from the past two to three months. The beachfronts along Ela Beach, Kilakila, Gabutu, Konedobu, Hanuabada and Tatana are also littered with all kinds of plastics, empty tins and bottles and many other rubbish.

Many city residents have complained through the letters section in The National of the pathetic collection system used by NCDC.

They said the NCDC waste management division was not performing to standard and Governor Powes Parkop should start rolling some heads.
