MORE than 150 Christians from mixed denominations walked from the Angoram parish to join other Christians in town for the stations of the cross, which started from Moem barracks and finished at Wewak hill, East Sepik, last Friday.
The group, including parents and community leaders, had been walking for seven days before arriving in Wewak town last Thursday.
Cluster 3 coordinator Timothy Wai said they had walked the long distance to carry out awareness on youth problems.
He said most young people were involved in activities that were against the law and Easter was the best time for reconciliation and reflection on their personal lives.
Wai said he was happy with the parents and elders and thanked them for joining and supporting the youths during the long walk.
Meanwhile, the long Easter weekend in Wewak was quiet as there were not many sporting and other activities planned for the holiday season.
Senior provincial adviser culture and sports  Anton Sakarai said this year Wewak was not fully organised for leisure activities.
