Federations learn sports management

SEVEN national federations recently completed the fifth module of the Managing Olympic Sport Organisation (MOSO) course run by the Oceania Sports Education Programme (OSEP).
The global programme was held for the first time in the country and the Pacific, according to course director Alurigo Ravusiro.
Ravusiro said the course came in six modules and what the participants completed was the fifth module, with the sixth module on events to be held in October. Participants, mostly executives of national sport federations in the country, started the first four modules last October.
“We are happy with the programme,” Ravusiro said. “We had executives from swimming, netball, beach volleyball, handball, softball, weightlifting and powerlifting,” Ravusiro said. She said participants were expected to write their strategic plans to manage their federations effectively.
