The  10th National Kenu and Kundu Festival has been boosted by a K15,000 donation from SP Brewery this week.

The brewery has been a sponsor  since 2009 and this year the company is a silver sponsor.

The festival will be staged from Nov 1-4.

Sponsorship and events manager Abigail Popotai said the brewery  supported cultural shows throughout the country.

“SP Brewery will continue to uphold our commitment in promoting PNG’s rich cultural heritage with Kenu and Kundu Festival being the biggest cultural event in the southern region,” she said.

“Annual shows like this take a lot of hard work and sheer commitment to attract sponsors and organise groups in celebrating Milne Bay culture.”

Corporate communications manager Dorothy Bengo said the festival’s 10th anniversary coincided with the arrival of P&O cruise ship, Carnival Australia carrying more than  2,000 passengers.

“Prime Minister Peter O’Neill is expected be present to mark the festival’s 10th anniversary,” she said.
