Fight but without violence

Letters, Normal

THERE have been extreme reactions against the O’Neill-Namah regime.
The bitterness and anger is understandable and in fact, commendable.
It is such strong feelings that urge people to act.
Shame on those who do not feel this anger and concern in the face of a great travesty of justice and are sitting on the fence.
As a Christian nation, Papua New Guineans should remember that to act violently is to add to sins that our Saviour carried for us and paid for.
He warned; “Put your sword back in its place, for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”
Mahatma Gandhi won India’s independence through a peaceful protest, shunning any form of violence while South Africa’s Nelson Mandela unified the people and ended apartheid through non-violent means.
Jesus, Gandhi, Mandela are the names that will live forever.
