Firefighters stage awareness

FIREMEN in Mt Hagen have been educating people about different ways to deal with fire.
Mt Hagen Fire Service commander Supt Richard Lokalyo said fire posed danger and it was important that people should know what to do to prevent fire and how to deal with one.
He said lives and properties were lost because people did not know what to do in a fire emergency.
“There are equipment and methods on how to put out a fire in your house or work place. Some can be prevented.
“But because most do not know what to do, a fire can cause more destruction.
“This is free information. All you have to do is to come forward and ask questions.
“My men will be available to help you,” he said.
Lokalyo said the demonstration will continue in Mt Hagen to educate people how to prevent a fire from causing destructions.
