TWO office space containers were recently donated to the East Sepik Health Authority by the Papindo Group of Companies to be used as a Coronavirus (Covid-19) isolation facility.
Authority chairman Austin The said the donation by Papindo was timely and the authority was grateful that an isolation facility would be set up as part of the hospital’s preparations to handle a possible surge of the Covid-19 variants (Delta and Omicron) this year.
“The hospital have an existing isolation room but it could use additional spaces where necessary,” he said.
The chairman said having more than one isolation facility was vital for a provincial hospital .
He said it was entirely up to the hospital management to make a decision on how best the new isolation facility would be set up.
The said the hospital management would decide whether to connect the containers to the hospital building or be a separate facility.
