Firm names managing director

DIGICEL PNG has announced Shivan Bhargava as the new managing director for the company’s mobile business.
Digicel, in a statement, said Bhargava joined the company, this month. “Shivan is an engineer (electronic and telecommunications) and an MBA by education but considers himself a sales and marketing professional, who started enjoying general management responsibility over the last eight years,” Digicel said in the statement.
“He started his professional life in 1995 with Kanasi Nerolac Paints (Kenya) where he worked for over three years followed by a very fruitful and satisfying stint with Cocoa Cola for over five years.
“In 2003, Shivan joined the telecom industry with Bharti Airtel Ltd (India) and in his own words, by a quirk of the fate has ended up handling the toughest markets for his erstwhile organisation, where he progressed rapidly to become managing director of Kenya country operations in Africa. “Through his journey across telecoms in India and Kenya, he has been credited with bringing in automation, discipline and processes across the various aspects of the business.”
