AFTER an up-and-down 2017, Toea Wisil is preparing to once again hit the tracks over 100 and 200 metres.
She has spent the last two months training at the National Sports Institute, Goroka, and ran in a time trial in Port Moresby last week where her coaches indicated she was ready to begin building up to the 2018 season.
NSI development officer Dior Lowry indicated that the young athletes in residence at NSI and the communal family environment had greatly contributed to some positive training spots as they slowly approach the month of June.
After competing in three races in Japan, Wisil will prepare for the national championships held in Port Moresby from June 24-26, and attempt to earn a spot on the Asia Pacific team for the Continental Cup in September.
