FIVE-time Southern Rugby League Nines champions Rovanama are a late inclusion in the Fuzzy Wuzzy tournament which kicks off at the National Football Stadium on Sunday.
Rovanama replaced Baruni Limestone, who withdrew to concentrate on next weekend’s Southern Nines at the same venue.
Tournament director Manu Lofena confirmed this with The National on Wednesday. Rovanama are now in Pool B alongside Waidex Eels, North Dingos Green and Kanage Raiders.
Lofena said Rovanama owner and head coach Chris Enara had paid their affiliation fee to compete in the three-day tournament.
The Aroma Coast team will vie for the Cup alongside fellow top sides in reigning champions Funeral Home Laumas, Taurama Siporo Magpies, Miro Koivi, Waidex Eels and SSG Roosters.
Deputy tournament director Vex Varo said 16 teams had paid their affiliation fees in full. He said these teams had received the tournament draw.
Varo said the other eight teams, who have made part payments, had been advised to settle their fees in full by close of business today.
“This is a final warning to them to meet the registration requirements so that they can receive the draw ahead of kick-off,” Varo said.
