Luba bag K5,000, EPC title

POM Luba claimed the Eastern Papua Carnival title and K5,000 after defeating Avis Keri 1-0 in the women’s final at the Bisini Soccer Ground on Sunday.
Luba assistant John Dokia said all teams had lived up to the carnival’s purpose of bring Port Moresby’s Milne Bay community together through football.
“However, to make arrangements to participate in this tournament is not an easy task,” he said. “We face a lot of challenges to bring the girls from different settings together. But we’ve managed to bring them together under the banner of Pom Luba.”
After defeating last year’s champions in the semifinal, Luba were brimming with confidence.
“If you have the heart and confidence to push through, you can do anything in life,” Dokia said.
