THE decider of the Papua New Guinea Men’s Basketball League grand final between Moni Plus and KSS Southern Flames tips off at the Taurama Aquatic and Indoor Centre today.
Can Moni Plus stop the more determined Flames from securing their sixth consecutive title? That’s something we all will find out when the game tips off at 6.30pm.
Flames have PNG stars Moses Lune, Cornelius Muri and Charles Parapa leading their title defence as they look to achieve another milestone in the country’s premier basketball competition.
Assisting them are Obert Muri, Gary Suve Holmes, Emmanuel Parapa and Purari Muri.
Moni Plus will be banking on star Apia Muri who has played a huge part in helping the Boyet Daroya-coached side reach the grand final.
Supporting Muri will be Robert Kave, Greg Travetz, Gabriel Elavo, Fluon Poaito, Kevin Ragalo and young James Banduru Jr.
Since the competition’s inception, it has been a Flames-Moni Plus affair in all the grand finals.
Straight after the game, the presentation of awards is expected to take place. The awards will be for the top-four teams only.
