Floating on oil and gas

PAPUA New Guinea is a nation of gold and silver floating on oil and gas.
We have vast natural resources that many other countries lack.
Had we not achieved independence 36 years ago, we would not have the privileges that we have and are enjoying today: we would still be struggling for self-rule.
We should be proud of our Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare for coming up with the brilliant idea of securing PNG its independence on a golden plate and for putting us on the right track to prosperity.
It is now the right time to say thank you and to give this great man, Sir Michael Thomas Somare, this gift of appreciation.
I salute you Sir Michael Somare for freeing this nation from colonial rule and for leading us to this modern day.
The people of PNG are at your back, supporting you with prayers but it is just the so-called power-hungry leaders who are making all sorts of decisions and comments.
Once again Grand Chief, thank you.

Wak Rambio,
Port Moresby
