THE Sumkar development authority (DDA) continues to focus on key government priority areas as it purchased a new ambulance for the Mugil health centre in the Sumgilbar local level government in Madang.
Upon presenting the ambulance to the Catholic-run health centre last week, Sumkar MP Chris Nangoi highlighted the importance of health facilities which has been contributing to the wellbeing of people over the years.
“This very important health facility in Sumgilbar has been serving the 50,000-plus population of the North Coast area over the years but has lacked an ambulance for some time,” Nangoi said.
“Since it is run by the Catholic Church, we saw that it would be more appropriate if there is government support through the DDA for it to be better-equipped to serve our people.”
The new fully-kitted ambulance costs K200,000.
