Forest boss worried over tuna stocks?

Letters, Normal

I WAS bemused to read The National (Oct 14) regarding a warning by Prof Simon Saulei, director of the PNG Forest Research Institute, that tuna stocks are going to decline because of climate change.
I cannot recall any recent statement by the good professor on how climate change might affect PNG’s vast forest cover.
Does this suggest that climate change impacts on our oceans and marine life will be greater than the impact on our forests and its inhabitants?
I am sure many people would welcome clear statements from Prof Saulei on how climate change may affect our forests and what relevant research programmes, if any, the Forest Research Institute may be undertaking.
