A FATHER was yesterday grieving the loss of his only son who died after being stabbed in Port Moresby two weeks ago.
Retired medical doctor Lorens Yabok said Junior, who was named after him, was “my only son” who had four sisters.
“In my family’s history, my grandfather was the only son, my father too was only son. I was the only son too with four sisters in the family,” Yabok said.
“(My late son) was the only boy in the family. And he has left me with only one grandson.”
Junior, 38, is survived by his wife and three children who live in Maprik. Police have arrested four suspects in relation to his killing.
He was a former student at the University of PNG.
Relative Albert Ayus said his body was expected to be flown to East Sepik next week. Ayus said Junior Yabok was a social work student who had been living with him on campus for the past 10 years.
“When he was alive, he saved a few people who were attacked in the same manner in the UPNG campus,” he said.
