Foundation donates 300 library books to get pupils reading

Telikom Foundation’s ‘donation box’ initiative is continuing to support children through book donations and its Clean IT e-library programme.
The programme aims to enhance learning capacity, and promote and improve literacy in schools.
The first recipient of the foundation’s book donation programme was the Waima United Church Elementary School in Kairuku, Central.
Staff from the foundation visited the school and presented 300 library books.
The books were given to the foundation by Buk Bilong Pikinini.
Under the programme, the foundation visits schools and donates library books, together with the Clean IT e-library programme to allow children to use internet services through ICT-enabled solutions.
Waima United Church Elementary School head teacher Vaki Taeara thanked the foundation for its great initiative and the items donated.
“I am pleased and thankful for Telikom Foundation to donate 300 books to our school,” Taeara said.
“We treasure such a donation to the school.”
