Four men accused of kidnapping to know their fate soon

FOUR men who were members of a gang that kidnapped a family of 13 on May 17, 2009, will know their fate on March 1.
Justice Panuel Mogish, in the Bomana National Court on Friday, set the date for submissions and sentencing of Jeffrey Wosi, Ronald Wafiaha, Roger Bae Nimbituo and Gilbert Guarri who were each convicted of impersonation, deprivation of liberty (13 counts each) and kidnapping for ransom.
Last December, only Wosi and Wafiaha were present for conviction and they were remanded whilst Nimbituo and Guarri jumped bail.
Only three convicts were present on Friday whilst Guarri failed to appear.
State lawyer Solomon Kuku objected for an extended bail for Nimbituo and made an application for him to be remanded.
Mogish then ordered Nimbituo to be remanded with his two accomplices at Bomana Prison while awaiting their submissions.
Kuku applied for a warrant for Guarri who missed a second court appearance.
But Mogish said Guarri must appear by March 1 failing which he would issue a warrant for his arrest.
