EAST New Britain Governor Nakikus Konga has commended the Government and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock for their price support programme.
Speaking last week during the launching of a Navunaram cocoa group dryer and cocoa price support programme, Konga said it was a good initiative.
He said the province was privileged to receive funding under the price support programme for cocoa and coconut.
He said white copra in the province was picking up momentum through the support of the Kokonas Indastri Koporation which made a first shipment to India last month.
Konga urged farmers to go back to their land and farm from which they could benefit directly.
He said his government was talking about growing the local economy and the price support programme was the way in putting money into the pockets of farmers.
