THE trial of a man and three women charged with possessing methamphetamine-consuming equipment will start in the Waigani District Court next month.
The case was scheduled for mention before magistrate Paul Nii yesterday but was adjourned to April 1.
Two of the female suspects did not appear.
The court was informed that heavy flooding around the Bomana prison area prevented their transportation into town.
Issac Ipatas of Wabag’s Irelya village and Maggie Kaumba, 26, of Wabag’s Keas village both in Enga, Sohpia Noria of Tambul’s Kerepia village and Cecilia Kumbakor, 18, of Nuku’s Seim village in West Sepik were charged with allegedly possessing equipment used for consuming methamphetamine.
The accused were nabbed at a Vadavada settlement house at 3pm on Aug 9 last year.
Police had assisted a Flora Singol Palme to get her belongings at the house when they came across the four.
They were searched and the alleged items were found on them.
Police claimed Ipatas had an earlier similar charge against his name.
