CHINESE ambassador Zeng Fanhua says it is now a tradition that China will donate medical supplies to Port Moresby General Hospital every year.
Fanhua said this yesterday when the 13th China Medical Team to PNG handed over different types of medical supplies to the hospital.
He said that was in accordance to the protocol on the assignment of the China medical team between the government of PNG and the government of the

“In the future, China is willing to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of medical and health care, and continue to provide assistance within our capacity for the PNG government to improve medical services,” he said.
Leader of the medical team Feng Wubing added that the team had performed more than 100 surgeries at the hospital in the last five months.
Wubing said the team had also provided traditional Chines medicine service to about 1,000 individuals.
“The medical instrument donation marks the deepening collaboration between China and PNG which shows a promising future for health care development in the region,” he said.
The hospital’s chief executive officer Dr Paki Molumi said China not only provided the human resource but also supported with medical equipment and the service maintenance of the equipment.
“But most importantly in sustaining the provision of consumables so that the machines that have been provided continue to operate with human resource that is provided,” Molumi said.
He acknowledged the team for the donation of the medical supplies and said it would help in delivering specialised service to the people of PNG.
